This photograph was taken at one of my favorite Wheatbelt locations under wonderful dark country skies. Taken in late May the Milky Way was rising from the eastern horizon at the time.
The light on the horizon in the distance is farm marchinary, likely seeding before winter comes. The silhouettes of trees are nearby our camp, set up on the edge of the nature reserver adjacent to a large open field.
Something I like about this composition is the inclusion of the Large Magellanic Cloud. It sits nicely above the silhouettes and alongside the Milky Way.
