A few years ago we were lucky to spot a platypus in the wild on Kangaroo Island. I say lucky, but in reality we spent a reasonable little bit of time watching and waiting in hope of seeing one, and had done a little research to know what to look for. Amazing little creature, going peacefully about its business in the water.
