For some time I have enjoyed helping Federico Manzini with observations of comets for the purpose of identifying the characteristics of their necleus and rotation of the nucleus.
Federico is in the process of publishing papers detailing his work, and as such I will limit what I say here for now. It’s an exciting area of research that reveals amazing detail about the comets nucleus, much more detail than I ever expected from a amateur telescope.
Comets studied:
- 8P Tuttle
- L4 PANSTARRS
